Learning about other countries and cultures
Launched at the International Study Conference each year, the QCWA nominates a Country of Study as the focus for their International Program’s awareness and fundraising activities. This immersive weekend introduces members to many facets of the Country’s history, crafts, food, music, sports, and other cultural activities.
In 2021, the Country of Study is Malaysia.
Branch and Division International Officers introduce the Country of Study to their members, collaborating to expand their collective knowledge through informative activities and fundraising events.
Any funds raised at these events are donated to support The Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW).
Branch members can take part in a range of competitions with their peers such as creating a scrap book, project book or crafts. Members please log into the Member Only section to download the documents.
International study for Children
Each year the QCWA State International Officer runs competitions
for children from Prep to Year 6, in line with the QCWA's nominated County of
Study. In 2021, the Country of Study is Malaysia.
The QCWA School Children's International Competition runs
inconjunction with the QCWA Branch Members own study program. So, while Members
are learning, children can also participate in fun and educational activities
focused on a specific country.
This year QCWA Members will be exploring all aspects of life and
living in Malaysia, such as Malaysian history and religion, people and fashion,
language, geography and industry, flora and fauna, foods and cooking, crafts
and traditions, and many other aspects of Malaysian culture.

All Queensland Primary School and Special Education students are
encouraged to participate in the QCWA's Children’s International Competition.
Many QCWA Branch members will be visiting their local schools and inviting them
to join in the QCWA study of ''Malaysia - Truly Asia'' in 2021. The
QCWA also receives valuable sponsorship from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia
towards prizes for the State Winners of this competition.
The Children’s Competition Schedule includes
age appropriate sections for Primary School and Special Education classes.
If you are interested and would like more information to share
with your school, your child or grandchild, in any of the QCWA School
Children’s competitions, please download the resources here International School Children's Competition page.
