Competitions open to the public

Competing to share and learn

QCWA Branch members welcome entries from non members in Cookery, Floral Art, Knitting and Crocheting and Photography competitions, fostering an exchange of ideas and knowledge and helping engagement with our Association.

Competitions complement our workshops and craft groups, generating widespread interest in the specific activities.

Operating from November to October, with judging at a Branch level conducted progressively throughout the year. Finalists are judged at the Annual State Conference held in October. Make contact with your closest QCWA Branch here.

So join us in a little healthy competition, click the areas of skill you are interested in and have a go!

Ready, set, bake

Since 1959, when the first State Cookery Contest was held as a way of raising money, the State Cookery Contest continues.

Entries are initially judged at Branch level, then Divisional, with finalists from approximately 16 classes delivering their cakes, slices, biscuits, jams and chutneys to the State Conference for final judging.

Flowers lift the spirit and the QCWA Floral Art Committee aim to create an uplifting and rewarding interest in the art among members and the public.

Funds raised from the competition go towards various QCWA projects.
