Gregory Branch is all set to make the most out of 2017

QCWA’s Gregory Branch is ready to hit the ground running in 2017!

Branch secretary, Annie Backhaus says “We have a lot of projects lined up for next year and many of us are eagerly awaiting the publishing and printing of the “Gulf Women” book, which will bring our area into the national spotlight.

So far next year we hope to bring to the women of our area -:

  • Qld Women’s Week Healthy High Tea and Pampering Afternoon – recognising the awesomeness of the women in our area. (March)
  • Hat Making Workshop (April)
  • Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at Doomadgee raising awareness and providing coping skills around Domestic and Family Violence (May)
  • The 55th Horse Sports and Family Fun Day

along with our regular events and meetings.

In an area where it takes some of our members 2 hours to get to a meeting due to the sheer distance between us, we are really proud to be a strong, proactive branch that not only talks the talk but walks the walk – representing country women in Queensland.”

If you live in the area or are just passing through and would like to meet the ladies of this dynamic Branch, the first meeting next year will be held on Saturday 11th March 2017 – wet season willing!
