Yandina Branch hosted a High Tea fundraising event to celebrate International Women’s Day. The 40 attendees enjoyed a wide variety of tasty and beautifully presented savoury and sweet treats prepared by the QCWA members. As well as socialising the ladies were treated to coffee tasting after a talk by Jo Bennett of Yandina’s Pioneer Coffee Roastery highlighting the Gayo Women Coffee Cooperative of Sumatra. Our second guest speaker, Kerrie Atherton, founder of Empower Life Solutions, bravely shared her story of growth from a traumatised young girl to the woman she is today. She inspired the audience with her positivity and sense of gratitude which she now uses to support others going through difficult times in their lives.
The Yandina Branch of the QCWA meets at 9.30 a.m. on the fourth Friday of each month at the QCWA building at 11 Stevens Street, Yandina. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
