Entry Fees: 50 cents. Limit of ONE entry per person per section. MEMBERS ONLY. All entries must be submitted with entry fees to your Division Chairman.
For Division Chairmen: A complete list of your Division's entries and entry fees, MUST be forwarded to the State Handcraft Secretary, Mrs Jenni Stewart, 34 Hayes Road, Jensen 4818.
Conditions of Entry: Please read carefully
All entries must be NEW and not shown at a previous State Handcraft Exhibition, except those articles used in Divisional displays, which may be entered in competition the following year.
Work must not have been done under tuition. All entries in Exhibition must be completely finished. Section cards should be stitched on to the front of items (not pinned or stapled).
JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL
All embroidery backs must be seen except sections 4 - Elizabethan Embroidery; 6 - Brazilian Embroidery; 10 - Dimensional Embroidery; 11 - Candlewicking; 14 - Chicken Scratch; 15 - Silk Ribbon Embroidery; 16 - Embroidered Picture; 18 - Creative Canvas; 19 - Long Stitch Tapestry; 21 - Shadow Trapunto; 22 - Crazy Patchwork; 23 - Stumpwork; 24 - Naive Applqiue; 28 - Redwork; 36 - Gold or Silver work; 40 - Embroidered Needle Case; 53 - Pin Prick Card, also those used in Division Displays. Any framed or mounted craft must not exceed 55cm x 50cm or an area not more than 2750 sq cms.
Framed works must be WIRED for hanging otherwise they will NOT be displayed. Due to a lack of space and for adequate display, NO BED QUILTS WILL BE ACCEPTED and NO entries are to be attached to cardboard or any other form of backing.
For Divisional and Younger Set Displays, Section 64 and 65, the area allowed is 36" or 915 sq cms. Tablecloth is to be 1/2 inch above floor and to be hemmed. A stand or frame may be used but no craft displayed is allowed to lean against the wall. In Younger Set Displays, the age of the exhibitor is to be attached to the entry.
All entries in Divisional and Younger Set Displays must be finished.
All sizes must be as stated in the schedule.
No cushion inserts accepted, except in Divisional and Younger Set Displays.
Entries must be in the hands of the Stewards by 8.30am, Monday 29 October 2007. Judging will commence at 9.30am on Monday 29 October 2007. Only Judges and Stewards will be allowed in the room whilst the judging is taking place.
Prizes: Where no trophy or donated prizes are listed, prizes will be - First - $10; Second - $5; Highly Commended - Card.
