English Breakfast Mint and Lavender Iced Tea
What’s great about it:
Traditionally iced tea is quite sugar dense contributing to poor dental health and weight gain. This recipe still calls for sweetener but a lot less than traditional versions. The lavender and mint add a nice floral and refreshing flavour.
Serves 8 | Prep time 5 minutes | Cook time 5 minutes
3 traditional English Breakfast teabags or 1 tablespoon loose leaf tea
1 bunch fresh mint, leaves removed and shredded
1 tablespoon dried lavender
3-4 tablespoons of any sweetener of your choice
2 litres of filtered water, boiled
1/2 lemon, sliced to garnish
A handful of mint to garnish
COMBINE the tea, mint, lavender, sweetener* and boiling water in a jug.
SET ASIDE for 30 minutes.
REMOVE the teabags or strain the tea.
REFRIGERATE for an hour until cool.
GARNISH with lemon slices and mint.
